Drop-in study | The Green Reading Room | The Group Study Room | PCs Working Area | Silent PC Room | Project Room 1 | Project Room 2 | Code of Conduct | Contact us
The majority of our study spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis during our opening hours.
The Library has a total of 130 permanent study spaces at desks and tables equipped with comfortable chairs and plugs for laptop use.
To use drop-in spaces, walk around and find the suitable study space.
In case you need to use a study and working facility open in extended hours, please visit our recently re-developed facility - The Green Reading Room.
The key principle for the re-development of the room was to increase accessibility to study spaces and computing facilities – responding to clear feedback from students.
Individual spaces are available for those students who need an environment conducive to quiet and individual study and to work with their laptops at the same time. To facilitate use, the room is also equipped with Library Search PCs, print and scan facilities.
Service hours
To further respond to student needs the specific room remains open 7 days a week (08.30-21.45 on weekdays), while for weekend hours you need to consult with ground floor L. Sofou secretary.
The facility is available to registered CITY College, University of York Europe Campus students who wish to collaborate in groups for project or other academic-related work.
It is not for use as an individual study area, and it is not for personal meetings or meetings between students and tutors, etc.
In the examination period priority is given to quiet study.
